Three Bed cottage
St Anns is our favourite Devon seaside cottage. It is situated in the popular resort of Torquay on the south coast and is in walking distance of beaches.
St Anns is in a great location in Torquay and is walking distance to all the amenities. But if you are staying with a car, why not explore some other very worthwhile
tourist attractions in the area.
But before you get into the car, what about a trip to the theatre. How many holiday cottages do you know in walking distance to a theatre. Babbacombe Theatre is situated on
Babbacombe Downs and enjoys spectacular sea views. It dates back to 1930 and has been refurbished in 2009. It is open all year round and offers variety shows, touring productions
and Christmas shows. It has been host to some famous stars in the past such as the Brotherhood of Man, Showaddywaddy, Pam Ayres, Lenny Henry, Elkie Brookes, Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk,
Des O'Connor, Kiki Dee and Jimmy Tarbuck to mention just a few.
Since 1986 the theatre has been owned by Colin Matthews who takes responsibility for directing the shows.
OK so now you fancy a drive. How about cream tea or lunch at Cockington (only a mile from the Torquay sea front). It is arguably one of the best places in the area for the famous Devon Cream Tea. The
grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. There is often a cocktail pianist playing in the garden during the summer months. And after you have eaten, take a stroll in Cockington Country
Park which forms the grounds of Cockington Court, a historic country manor house, which includes a childrens play area, contemporary art gallery, tudor rose garden, walled art garden, tea rooms
and 20 craft studios. There are chocolatiers making chocolates which smell delicious, or you can watch the blacksmith at his forge or just be fascinated by the glass blowers making wonderful
works of art.
St Anns is a dog friendly cottage, so our guests will be pleased to know that Cockington Country Park is also dog friendly. Infact it has even won the Silver award in the Herald Express
Tourism Awards for Dog Friendly Business of the Year 2016.
