Four Bed cottage
Pitt House is an impressively pretty four bedroom thatched cottage in the village of Kingskerswell in the Torbay area of Devon. This detached cottage dates from the early 15th-century and features thick cob walls. It is accessed through double wooden gates, and has ample parking for 5 plus cars. It is steeped in history with original oak panelling, heavily beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplaces and the original bread oven. The large family size lounge opens directly onto the gardens through two sets of French doors, whilst the snug Prince William room offers a space for quieter times. The Oliver Cromwell dining-room oozes nostalgia in its character and décor and is a wonderful room for a special dinner party. The large country kitchen still retains much charm with a stable door leading to the enclosed courtyard and garden. The property sits within a large English country garden; there is even a little bridge set over the enchanting brook, which runs through the grounds. To the north lies the estuary town of Teignmouth with its thriving harbour where its fishing boats are still hauled up on the pebbled beach. There is a ferry that operates between Teignmouth and the lovely coastal village of Shaldon. Pitt House is well situated for easy access to the English Riviera, the medieval town of Totnes and South Hams area and Dartmoor. The nearest pub is just 1 mile away.
